A law firm in University Place, WA, is seeking an Attorney I with a Juris Doctor degree and 3+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent legal research and writing skills, trial experience, and the ability to effectively communicate and advise clients.
Duties:
Researching and analyzing the law on complex legal issues.
Writing memorandums, briefs, letters, and other documents.
Marketing your and the firm's services to prospective clients.
Performing discovery of various electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation.
Performing due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions.
Communicating and advising clients.
Managing a schedule to allow for consults and closure of consults to sufficiently reach production/collection objectives.
Closing consults within the Firm's range of 30-50% depending on practice area.
Timely approval of invoices is critical to the health of the business on a month-to-month basis.
Ensure support staff are fully utilized and productive.
Accurately and completely update CC with fees, engagement, trust, client information, invoices, etc. as required.
If over-subscribed, share work tasks with other attorneys and support staff to ensure the firm is meeting its objective to serve communities.
Actively engage in brand (personal and firm) expansion through blogs, social media posts, board and organization participation, etc.
Actively seek positive comments from successful client engagements and positive star reviews.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
Excellent legal research skills.
Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school.
Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to WA Bar.
3+ years of experience as an attorney.
Preferred:
Trial experience.
