The Job

The Senior Business Analyst provides analytics support to the Pharmacy Department to ensure that the department is well positioned to address emerging industry trends and requirements through the design, implementation, and enhancement of effective and efficient programs and processes. This role acts as liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements. for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. The analyst understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements, and recommends and implements solutions that enable the department to achieve its goals. Build cross-functional business analyst relationships to foster collaboration and develop best analytics practices.

You Will

Creates and runs ad hoc queries (SQL) and reports using internal and external data sources to support the department.

Develops, edits, and maintains requirements, functional and system design specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solutions.

Develops and creates data analytic reports as directed by the manager to identify opportunities to enhance programs and processes improving quality of care, cost, and/or utilization.

Conducts impact analyses to define both impacts and opportunities created by emerging industry trends and regulatory requirements.

Monitors and coordinates data analytic activities with vendors.Facilitate access, test reports, track and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Maintains strong working relationships with all SCAN departments to facilitate organizational communication. Facilitates discussion of relevant topics to achieve consensus among various initiative stakeholders.

Organizes meetings with high quality presentations, agendas, and meeting goals. Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.

Tracks, documents, and communicates project status/issues/obstacles quickly and clearly through appropriate organizational and project leadership channels.

Leads testing efforts.Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.Works with client personnel to identify required changes. Communicates needed changes to development team.

Partner with and mentor other business analysts within the department and cross-functionally to build organizational business analyst talent.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Actively support the achievement of SCAN's Vision and Goals.

Other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience, required. A comparable combination of education/experience and/or training will be considered equivalent to the education listed.

5+ years of experience in analytics and support analytical projects.

3 years of healthcare experience.

3+ years in a role using data analytic software

Ability to extract and analyze data from multiple internal and external systems.

Working knowledge of pharmacy claims data, prescription drug events (PDE), industry drug databases, pharmacy financial data, and formulary data.

Strong system skills including the ability to design and create moderate to complex queries of health care data.

Excellent computing skills with knowledge or Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and specialized audit software. Demonstrated experience with data visualization, SQL, Tableau, and Alteryx.

Proficiency in understanding and implementing business workflows, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Knowledge of CMS requirements and quality improvement initiatives.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, required.

Strong communication skills required.
